Rep. Mark Harmsworth talks with KSER about Peterson’s exit

The recent failure of the Senate to confirm the appointment of Lynn Peterson as Transportation Secretary topped Mark Harmsworth’s conversation with KSER.  The Republican from Mill Creek said the move, which essentially amounts to a firing, wasn’t necessarily out of the blue.  He cited problems with the pontoons on SR 520, issues with Bertha, and traffic tie-ups related to tolling on I-405 as potential harbingers of Peterson’s fate.

When asked whether the move, which the governor took less than gracefully, might affect future relations at the statehouse, Harmsworth noted, “The House and Senate are willing to work with the Governor on all sorts of issues.”
